How much do lessons cost?
Individual 30 minute lesson: £12.50 Partner lessons, 45 minutes: £18.00
During the pandemic lesson are available during term time and holidays to be paid
monthly by PayPal, standing order or direct debit.
For those who want short-term lessons during the pandemic
these are bookable in 4-lesson slots, payable in advance.
What types of music do you teach?
I teach both piano and keyboard, and can teach either classical, keyboard or rock syllabuses.
What kind of an instrument do I need to have?
Any keyboard with full-sized keys will do for the first year but you must have an adjustable (x-frame stand).
After that either a weighted/semi-weighted keyboard/digital piano or an acoustic piano. Ask me for more details.
Where do you teach?
I teach from my home in the Powderhall area of Edinburgh, EH7 4GD.
What days/times do you offer lessons?
Typically lessons take place after school Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings.
However, during the pandemic, slots are available during school hours.
Free 'Meet the Teacher' appointments for new students are essential to discuss practicalities and technical setup.
Can I take a break from lessons?
During the pandemic you can take a break with no penalty. If you have an outstanding balance when
you cancel this can be put on hold for six months period if your circumstances require.
What other charges are there?
Piano books and exam fees are charged at cost price. Supersonics pieces
and tuition materials are available online at no cost during the pandemic.
What technology do I need?
Ideally a laptop or tablet running the Zoom app for online lessons.
A printer and a plug-in microphone might also be useful.
What is your cancellation policy?
During the pandemic I will endeavour to be as flexible as possible.
Missed lessons can be rescheduled for up to two months.
